Description

~ When somebody loved me, everything was beautiful
Every hour we spent together, lives within my heart
And when she was sad, I was there to dry her tears
And when she was happy, so was I, when she loved me.
~
Me and my friend went up to the pound to take some photos. It was so sad to see all these poor babies. While we were there a dog was even being put in the pound by it's owners. I'm dying to get another dog but I already have 3 so unless I can pull several hundred dollars out of my ass ever month then that's a no go..

I have a very hard time finding sympathy or respect for people who dump their animals in the shelter. :[ It's always the animals that suffer. They think the cat or dog they dumped will "be fine". The people don't realize (or just don't care) that most times their old pets end up in the gas chamber to be killed or a garbage bag because no one wanted them. That the stress they have put their cat through will directly result in the death of said cat. (Since cats get sick when they get stressed... and in a shelter a sneeze equals death)... I'm the type of person that really hopes those that dump their pets "wake up" one day and realize what a horrible thing they did.

I work with a no kill rescue, and even seeing the cats that have been owner surrenders come in is hard. We've had some cats that cry for their horrid people for days before they realize... they aren't coming back. We had a cat that was given up by her owner (for something very stupid, too) and she stopped eating or drinking. She WANTED to die. We called the owners and told them to see if they'd take her back. They replied "Oh, well we don't really care about the cat. Just kill the thing." (WTF?!) It took months to finally 'fix' her back up but she's now the cherished member of a family.
